New Crafty Polyglot Podcast Episode: From Mandarin Immersion to NYU Shanghai

Horse Education Group is excited to announce a new episode of The Crafty Polyglot Podcast, featuring Marisa Tucker, the parent of two students who participated in German and Chinese Mandarin language programs.


In this inspiring conversation, Dr. Felicia Eybl speaks with Marisa about her family’s language-learning journey and the powerful impact immersion education had on her children.


Marisa’s own experience with language began when she moved to Germany at age eleven and attended a local German school. Through full immersion, she became fluent in German and later continued studying French, Italian, Latin, and Ancient Greek. That experience helped shape her decision to introduce her children to foreign-language education.


Her daughter began Chinese Mandarin immersion in kindergarten. Years later, that early foundation gave her the confidence and language skills to study abroad, live independently in China, and graduate from NYU Shanghai.


During the episode, Marisa discusses how immersion education helped her daughter:
